Middle Eastern Women: Diverse and Amazing Role Models

Tuesday, March 8, 2022 - 12:00pm

Description: One of the biggest mistakes we make as writers, teachers, and storytellers is to show our audiences only perfect role models. This is off-putting to everyone, not just to young women. Research urges us again and again to show that the success achieved by role models should be attainable and replicable. They come from all walks of life and from many parts of the Middle East.

Tuesday, March 29, 2022 - 5:30pm
Online

The E.U., led by Italy, has trained and equipped the Libyan Coast Guard to serve as a proxy maritime force, whose central purpose is to stop migrants from reaching European shores. Efficient and brutal, the at-sea capture and on land internment of these migrants is what European Union officials hail as part of a successful partnership with Libya in their “humanitarian rescue” efforts across the Mediterranean.
