The Politics of Vulnerability: A Conversation with Asma Uddin

In The Politics of Vulnerability (2021), Asma Uddin - American-Muslim public intellectual, religious liberty attorney, and activist - provides a unique perspective on the political and social factors contributing to the Muslim-Christian divide in the United States. Uddin humanizes a contentious relationship by fully embracing both sides as individuals driven by very human fears and anxieties.
In this conversation, Uddin will join Judd Birdsall, senior research fellow at the Berkley Center and project director of the Transatlantic Policy Network on Religion and Diplomacy (TPNRD), to discuss the complexities of religious liberty and politicized vulnerabilities. They will discuss how Islamophobia and other aspects of the conservative Christian movement are interconnected, as well as examine where hate comes from and how it can be conquered.
