Islamic Art Exhibit Opening at Les Idees Gallery

The Christian-Muslim Dialogue Committee (CMDC) is sponsoring an exhibition of Islamic art featuring Pittsburgh-based artists in the Les Idees Gallery on the third floor of the Union.

The exhibit, which will run from Thursday, Sept. 4, through Tuesday, Sept. 30, supports the CMDC’s mission to provide a platform for multiple perspectives between Christians and Muslims, and to promote healthy and peaceful relationships.

Dr. Gordon is Professor Emerita at Case-Western Reserve University, a steering committee
member of the Israel/Palestine Mission Network of the Presbyterian Church (USA),
and pre-1948 native of Jerusalem. She has been a guest on Democracy Now.

Pittsburgh resident Ahmed Arafat was born and raised in Gaza by refugee parents.
He will relate the personal stories of his family’s life in Gaza.

Event is sponsored by the new grassroots organization, "Greater Pittsburgh Interfaith Coalition", a new grassroots organization seeking to convene our region's diverse faith communities.

General Petraeus' lecture is the culminating event of AMEI's 7th Annual Business Conference, OASIS: Growing Business Between the U.S. and the Middle East.

General David H. Petraeus, U.S. Army retiree, academic professor and chairman of KKR Global Institute will speak at the Carnegie Music Hall in Oakland at 8 p.m., as the culminating event of AMEI's 7th Annual Business Conference.

Tickets prices are $65 for the first floor, $45 for the first balcony and $25 for the second balcony.
