For this month's episode of ACMCU's Building Bridges podcast, we speak with Dr. Yasir Qadhi, Dean of Academic Affairs at the Islamic Seminary of America and Professor of Religious Studies at Rhodes College.

Dr. Yasir Qadhi gave a talk at ACMCU this past spring semester entitled, "Rethinking Salafism: Shifting Trends and Changing Typologies Post Arab Spring." In this interview, Dr. Qadhi recalls his personal journey from an innovative chemical engineer to a University of Medina trained theologian. He speaks about the categorization of Salafi movements from a Western context and touches on the future of religious dialogue and how technology is influencing the way religion is spreading across the globe.

Dr. Yasir Qadhi holds a B.Sc. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Houston, a BA in Hadith Studies, an MA in Islamic Theology from the Islamic University of Madinah, and a PhD in Islamic Studies from Yale University. Currently, he is a professor in the Department of Religious Studies at Rhodes College, and the Dean of Academic Affairs at the Islamic Seminary of America.
