The public is invited to ICP's annual outreach event Humanity during the sacred month of Ramadan, when ICP invites it’s friends and neighbors of all faiths to celebrate and honor members of the Pittsburgh who embody the change we want to see through their compassion and inspirational vision benefiting our city of Pittsburgh. The program will begin at 7:00 PM with dinner to follow at 9:00 PM
The guest speaker for the event is Professor Younus Mirza, Assistant Professor of Islamic Studies at Allegheny College.

From Pittsburgh to Gaza, Baltimore to the West Bank, the group seeks to build community and amplify the suppressed voices of those suffering from police brutality, discriminatory legislation, and institutionalized execution.

Join us later in the evening for dinner and hear our guest speaker Mahmoud Abdul-Rauf, who will talk about justice for minorities in America.
Mahmoud Abdul-Rauf is a former NBA player who is famous for refusing to stand up during the national anthem. Twenty years later, he now works as a social justice advocate, giving lectures on oppression and standing up for what you believe in.

Two Roots activists – Antwan Saca, a Palestinian Christian and Rabbi Hanan Schlesinger, an Israeli settler – tell their personal stories and seek peace and justice for Palestinians and Israelis. Roots is a grassroots Palestinian and Israeli initiative for understanding, nonviolence and transformation. They work in both the Holy Land and the United States for education, dialogue, and action in service of peace with dignity for all.

On Friday we will enjoy the comedy stylings of Youssef in his "The Joke is Mightier Than The Sword" and on Saturday we will watch an exclusive film Screening of "Tickling Giants" followed by discussion with Youssef and the film's director Sara Taksler.
